Tenant
April 2021
I was hired by the tenant of this rental property, with the permission of the landlord, to make some aesthetic improvements to this bathroom. The tenants hated the pink tile and wanted it gone.
The challenge was to come up with a cosmetic solution that was achievable given the clients budget and that also satisfied the landlords need for resistance to wear and tear.
The vanity and countertop were in decent shape with only minor repairs needed.
The vanity drawer and door fronts were refurbished with new paint and matte black pulls. A new sink and coordinating matte black faucet was also added.
Replacing the tile was not an option given the budget. Instead, the tile was painted using a high quality two-part epoxy paint.
The original tile floor stands the test of time and remains a charming component, adding warmth to the space.
The bathtub was also reglazed
The existing accessories (towel bars, soap dishes, etc.) were given a matte black treatment to complete this monochromatic look.
Vintage shower components were updated with a new shower head, drain stopper, showerhead, knobs, and escutcheon plates.
